英语方位介词主要有：on、under、behind、in、near、above、below、in front of、beside、over、in the front of（在…的前面）等。 下面介绍几个常用的英语方位介词： On一般都是指在某物的上面，两者是有互相接触的。

比如：My breakfast is on the table.（早餐是在桌子的上面，而且两者是有接触的。） 我的早餐在桌子上。 I put your coffee on your table.（咖啡在桌子上面。两者是有接触的。） 我把咖啡放在你桌子上面了。

Under 经常指在某物垂直的正下方，两者之间是不接触的。比如： My dog is seating under my thigh.（狗在我的腿下面，狗与腿之间是不接触的。） 狗正坐在我腿的下面。 My homework under my desk.（作业在桌子下，作业与桌子之间是不接触的。） 我的作业在我的书桌下面。

In 一把都表示在…的内部；在…的里面。比如： The pan is in the box.（in the box 表示在盒子的里面。） 我的钢笔在盒子里面。 I put some meat in the dinner.（in the dinner表示在晚饭里面。） 我在晚饭里面放了一些肉。

Behind 表示在某物体的后面。比如： My ball is behind the door.（behind the door表示在门的后面。） 我的球在门的后面。 The children is hiding behind the tree.（behind the tree表示在树的后面。） 孩子们都藏在树的后面。 Near 表示在某物的附近，也可以翻译成为接近或者靠近。

The animal is near the river. （near the river表示在小溪的附近。） 动物一般出现在小溪的附近。 The dog is near the tree. （near the tree表示在树的附近。） 小狗在树的旁边。
