As可以引导时间状语从句、原因状语从句、让步状语从句、方式状语从句、比较状语从句。比如:As I waited the bus, I meeted my friend等。 as作为连词一共可以引导五种状语从句，分别是：时间状语从句、原因状语从句、让步状语从句、方式状语从句、比较状语从句。

一、as引导时间状语从句，这时as的含义是“当…的时候”。时间状语从句主要是为了强调主句和从句中的动作或者状态是同时发生的，这时从句可以放在主句前面,也可以放在主句后面。 比如：As my mother was cooking, I was reading the book in my bed room. 当我母亲做饭的时候，我正在我的卧室里面读书。 As I waited the bus, I meeted my friend. 当我在等公交的时候，我遇到我的朋友。 As I was going to classrom, my teacher was entering the classroom. 当我正进教室的时候，老师也正在进入教室。

二、as引导原因状语从句，这时as的含义是“因为、由于”。原因状语从句通常是表示附加说明的理由，而且是双方都已经知道的原因。 比如：As she was ill, I went to school alone. 因为她生病了，我一个人去了学校。 As he is a English tercher, he know how to slove the English promble. 因为他是一个英语老师，他知道如何解决这个英语问题。 As the weather is raining, we have to give up this plan. 因为下雨了，我们不得不放弃了这个计划。

三、as引导让步状语从句，这时as的含义是“虽然……但是……”。我们要注意当as引导让步状语从句的时候，从句要倒装。 比如： Man as he is, he very like dance. 虽然他是一个男的，但是他很喜欢跳舞。 Hard as it was raining, he never give up go to hpme . 虽然雨下得很大，但是他并没有放弃回家。 Tired as he is, he cooked dinner for family. 虽然他很累了，但是他还给家人做了晚饭。
