01 You’d better not

当你想要表达：“如果你一定要这样的话”，即别人可以做某件事情，但是我们希望他不要去做。可以使用“If you must”，也可翻译成“也行吧”、“如果你非要……”。

“You’d better not” 意思也一样，只是不礼貌。

例句：

A: Can I borrow your iPad to see a movie dad? 爸爸，我可以借你的iPad看部电影吗？

B: If you must. But your sister need it again in about an hour, OK? 也行，但是你的妹妹大概一个小时后还要用，可以不？

02 “浪费” 别再说 “waste”! Drain作名词义为“排水”“下水道”等，down the drain 字面意思是“流下水道去了”，可以义为“徒劳”、“堕落”等，用来表达浪费（通常指钱和精力）。

例句：

A: We’ve worked so hard paparing the project, and now we can’t do? 我们为了这个项目准备了这么久，现在我们不能做了？

B: Yes. That’s a month’s work down the drain. 是啊，一个星期的努力白费了。

03 “Go with the flow” 不是 “随波逐流” Flow是“流动，水流”的意思，“Go with the flow” 字面义为“跟着水流走”。其本意是表达在面对一个决定时，“顺其自然”、“我都可以”或是“随从大家的意见”。

例句：

A: Some people don’t like Thailand cuisine. Shall we go to that Chinese restaurant? 有些人不喜欢泰国菜，要不，我们去那家中餐馆？

B: I’ll go with the flow - whatever you like. 我随大家，看你们喜欢什么。
